Questions about BOTOX
How Does BOTOX work?
BOTOX uses a form of Botulinum Toxin Type A to inhibit very small muscle fibers in the face from receiving the nerve signal from the brain that tells them to contract. The repetitive contraction of facial muscles is what causes many facial lines and wrinkles. By preventing this contraction, your lines and wrinkles will naturally smooth out.
Can I have BOTOX during another vision or cosmetic procedure?
Yes because BOTOX is a fast and easy cosmetic procedure, and it can be performed during any number of vision or cosmetic procedures you may have at our eye care practice including:
• LASIK
• Blepharoplasty or Eyelid Surgery
• PRK
• Clear Lens Exchange (CLE)
• Restylane
Is BOTOX permanent?
BOTOX is not a permanent cosmetic procedure. Over time, the results from your BOTOX procedure will fade as the muscles in your face slowly begin to receive the nerve signals from the brain again. If you like your BOTOX results, you can always return to our office for a follow-up procedure where we will maintain your results.
