The procedure
You can choose blepharoplasty of the upper lids, lower lids, or both. It can be performed alone or combined with BOTOX injections..

 

• Small incisions are made in the natural crease of the eyelid (which will hide the tiny scars)
• Excess skin, muscle, and fat are removed
• Fat may be repositioned to fill out other areas (depending on your needs)
• Muscles may be tightened (depending on your needs)

The entire procedure usually takes about one to three hours.

 

After eyelid surgery
You may experience minor swelling, bruising, and tightness. Swelling and bruising should subside in one to two weeks and your skin will relax, relieving the tight feeling. It can take several months to see the full final results.

 

You can leave the facility shortly after your procedure, but you should plan to have someone drive you home.

 

If you wear contacts you should refrain from wearing them for about one week after surgery. Also avoid any strenuous activities for a week to 10 days. Dr. Sylvester will give you detailed instructions on how to clean and care for your eyes while they heal.
