What is BOTOX® used for?

How does BOTOX® work?

The cause of many wrinkles on the face around the eyes and nose are a result of repetitive muscle movements forcing the skin to wrinkle in the same place over and over again. BOTOX® uses a strain of Botulinum Toxin Type A to inhibit very small portions of muscles in the face from receiving the nerve signals telling them to move. Wrinkles and creases are diminished because the muscles are no longer causing the wrinkles to form.

 

Are there any BOTOX® side effects?

Since BOTOX® is not a permanent cosmetic surgery procedure, any effects you see from the BOTOX® injection will be temporary. The most common side effects following a BOTOX® injection are bruising around the injection site, swelling, and numbness.

 

Am I a BOTOX® candidate?

Nearly any person who is unsatisfied with the appearance of wrinkles along their brow and eyes is a BOTOX® candidate.
