Questions About Fillers
In Oklahoma City and Edmond, Oklahoma
What types of fillers do you provide?
We provide our patients with two great injectable filler options at our Oklahoma City, Oklahoma eye care practice, Hummel Eye Associates. Juvederm™ and Restylane® are both injectable fillers created from non-allergenic hyaluronic acid. Juvederm™ and Restylane® are not permanent cosmetic solutions and the results from both injectables will fade over time.
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring substance that is a component in mammal tissue. Once hyaluronic acid is distilled into its purest form, it is hypo-allergenic, eliminating the risk of an allergic reaction after the injections. Hyaluronic acid has been used for many years to help treat arthritis, hydrate skin, and heal wounds. Today, Juvederm™ and Restylane® use hyaluronic acid gel to fill the lines, wrinkles, and folds that develop on the face as a natural part of the aging process.
How is a filler procedure performed?
During your Juvederm™ or Restylane® procedure, Dr. Deena Sylvester will use a very small needle to inject the fine hyaluronic acid gel into the deepest layers of your skin. The gel will help plump this tissue and smooth wrinkles and creases so that your skin appears firmer and younger.
How long will my injectable filler results last?
Once of the greatest benefits of Juvederm™ and Restylane® is that their results are not permanent. Unlike invasive procedures like a face or brow lift, Juvederm™ and Restylane® will provide you with wonderful results for up to one year. After being injected, your body will slowly absorb the hyaluronic acid. If you love your Juvederm™ or Restylane® results, you can return to our Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Juvederm™ and Restylane® practice to have your creases or wrinkles corrected again or touched up.
What can an injectable filler correct?
As a part of the aging process, the skin on your face will lose its fullness and elasticity, and as a result, it will begin to sag. When skin begins to sag, it can create creases and wrinkles around the mouth, nose, and eyes. Restylane® and Juvederm™ can be injected deep into the skin, filling the areas of skin that are causing the lines, creases, and wrinkles.
What other types of cosmetic procedure do you perform?
We want to be able to make our patients satisfied with both their vision and their appearance. In addition to performing Juvederm™ and Restylane® injections at our practice, we also perform BOTOX® and Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty).
If you're unsatisfied with your facial appearance and are looking for a way to gain the smooth young skin you used to have, please contact our Oklahoma City Restylane® and Juvederm™ doctor at Hummel Eye. We will discuss what you want to accomplish during your Restylane® or Juvederm™ procedure and which injectable filler is right for you.
