Getting Juvederm™

In order to accomplish your appearance goals with Juvederm, you need to schedule an initial consultation with Dr. Deena Sylvester at Hummel Eye Associates. During your initial consultation, our experienced doctor will listen to exactly what you would like to improve about your vision or your facial appearance.

 

Many times, patients come to our office with an idea of what they want, but they are unsure of which procedure is best for them. While a patient may think Juvederm is right for them, one of our other cosmetic surgery procedures like BOTOX®, Restylane®, or eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) could be better suited for them.

 

The Juvederm™ Injection

During a Juvederm™ injection, our doctor will use a very fine needle to inject the fine Juvederm™ gel into the deep layers of the skin. In general, pain from this procedure is not great and patients do not need any anesthetic, but if you are very concerned about the discomfort, a topical anesthetic may be used to make sure you are comfortable throughout the procedure.

 

Dr. Sylvester will inject small amounts of Juvederm™ into the deepest layers of your skin. The Juvederm™ gel will stay in this tissue raising the skin so that is appears firmer, filling out any wrinkles or creases that have developed.

 

Juvederm™ Results

Unlike invasive cosmetic surgeries, a Juvederm injection can be completed in less than an hour and is not permanent. The Juvederm™ injections placed in your skin will lift and plump the skin immediately, but the results will fade over time. If you enjoy your appearance from your Juvederm injections, we suggest you return for follow-up Juvederm procedures every 6 months so that you can maintain your smoother, younger looking skin.
